In classes students normally learn what is important to know, but too often not nearly enough about how to put this knowledge to use. Onramp works to fill this gap. If Onramp did only this we believe that alone would make the few weeks spent with us extremely worthwhile, but Onramp offers something even more valuable. Onramp teaches cohorts how to successfully innovate using the method of Effectuation (effectuation.org), and provides real world experience and practice in using this method to go about creating new, added value wherever they work and whatever their role. Time spent at Onramp adds up to new confidence, opportunities and satisfaction. Come join us for a few weeks that will change the way you create your future.

Onramp has given me not only an understanding about HOW to go out and create my own path but just as importantly it also has given me the confidence to begin doing so. There is opportunity for everyone once you know where to look and how to leverage your skills to do something you are passionate about. As a cohort we pushed and supported each other everyday and it was amazing to see the progress we made as an Onramp team and as individuals.
Alyssa – Onramp Cohort, July 2016
I have always thought of myself as a problem solver, but at Onramp I learned entirely new skills about how to create new value wherever I work and whatever my role. At Onramp I discovered how to apply the principles of an entrepreneurial mindset to go about solving problems and finding new solutions that work in the real world. This has given me the confidence to begin creating my own future rather than choosing from the usual options. I would never have thought to see problems as opportunities before, but now I have an understanding of what it means to truly be Entrepreneurial.
In 2016 an Onramp cohort was invited to work with KEEN footwear, and attempt to help innovate their material waste and recycling processes to be ever more consistent with KEEN’s company ethos and brand — an assignment which had previously been unsuccessfully tackled by other professional consultants.
Using the effectuation method, in just a few weeks, Onramp’s cohort came up with insights, recommendations, and implemented innovations that created immediate successful results:
• increased waste mitigation
• brand building
• community partnership creation
• thousands of dollars a year in recurring revenues from turning ‘trash into cash,’ AND
• real dollar cost savings expected to approach $150,000 over the next five years.
Win-win-win! But most exciting is the first-hand experience and confidence the Onramp cohort acquired in discovering their ability to innovate ‘in the real world’ using effectuation’s entrepreneurial method.
Entrepreneurship 2.0 — it’s not its own thing it’s a part of everything.
